Parsippany-Troy Hills has one of the best garbage and recycling pickup and disposal systems in New Jersey.
All residents are supplied with a new Garbage & Recycling calendar each year by our Town Hall. This calendar covers all of the instructions necessary to recycle or dispose of all garbage and recyclables. It describes the type of waste that will be picked up by township trucks and personnel and what can or must be taken to the recycling center by the resident.
Garbage and recycling systems are covered in the Municipal Code “Garbage – Chapter 3, Section 21” and “Recycling – Chapter 11, Section 6’:
“Garbage shall not be put out before 6pm on the day before pickup and no
later than 6am on the morning of pickup.”
Sedgefield is assigned to Section B, District 1 of the township.
Items, particularly those not routinely picked up, may be dropped off at the Recycling Center located off Route 46 East; entrance at the traffic light just east of the Police Station.
When a holiday falls on a Monday there is no pickup of any garbage or recyclables. Check your Garbage & Recycling calendar for the holiday schedule. Sedgefield’s first weekday pickup falls on a Monday so we have to pay attention when it is a holiday. The holiday schedule becomes a bit confusing, this is why we recommend a thorough reading and study of the calendar.
If you do not have a current Garbage & Recycling calendar or if you have any specific questions not answered in the calendar call (973) 263-7273 or (973) 263-7274 for clarification.
